TN in the War: Ukraine prepares for a new attack from Russia in the New Year
A dramatic and violent end of the year is expected for all the inhabitants of Ukraine. The town of Zaporizhia is on alert due to Russian attacks against Ukraine that begin to take place every night with greater intensity in the city. Bakhmut is one of the most attacked areas and is one of the critical points of the Ukrainian resistance.
Ukraine warned on Monday of a possible Russian offensive before the end of the year. "We must understand that our enemy will try to make these days dark and difficult for us," Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky said.

According to the Ukrainian president, "Russia has lost everything this year," but it will try to "compensate for its defeats" with new missile attacks against the energy system.
Zelensky expressed his conviction that "darkness will not prevent the Ukrainians from inflicting new defeats on the occupiers," but warned everyone to "be ready for any scenario." "It is clear that the Russians are preparing for something," they also warned on Ukrainian television.
Nataliya Humenyuk, a spokesperson for the Southern Command of Ukraine, recalled the massive attack on December 5, when the Russian Army used maritime and air-based missiles, noting that "at first the situation is very similar."

In anticipation of a possible Russian offensive, Ukraine launched last Monday a drone attack against the "Engels" airfield, located in the Russian region of Saratov, about 500 kilometers from the border, during which at least three Russian soldiers died, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
On December 5, the Russian command reported that it had intercepted several Ukrainian drones that were targeting the “Engels” and “Diaghilevo” airfields, the latter in the Russian region of Ryazan.
A wave of shelling hit Ukraine on Saturday, including the capital kyiv, where at least one person was killed and several injured, local authorities said.
“According to the first information, one person died in the Solomiansky neighborhood. Several people were injured," kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on the Telegram messaging network. Ukrainian authorities also reported destruction and fires in Mikholaiv, in the south, and in Khmelnitsky, in the west.
