Municipality of Lima collected more than 450 tons of garbage in Mesa Redonda and the Central Market
The Municipality of Lima began the year 2023 with the streets full of solid waste, discarded during New Year's Eve. There were more than 450 tons of garbage that was collected along the streets located in the Central Market, Mesa Redonda and all of Lima Cercado.
The edile entity communicated about this fact through its social networks, where they also mentioned that to achieve the collection of all the garbage thrown in the streets, the jurisdiction needed 650 street sweepers, 160 collection people and 22 compactors.
Apart from the aforementioned body of workers, other cleaning operators were also needed who started their work from 05:00 hours. This would be one of the first actions carried out by the new mayor of Lima, Rafael López Aliaga, who begins his duties today, January 1.
"By order of the mayor of Lima (@ rlopezaliaga1) we deployed 22 compactors, 160 collection personnel and 650 sweepers, among others, who are in charge of the spectacular New Year's cleaning operation," reads the publication of the Municipality of Lima .
But this fact did not only occur in the jurisdiction of the capital, but also in other districts. For example, in La Victoria, the surroundings of the Gamarra commercial emporium began 2023 with mounds of garbage all over Aviación avenue.
The places where there was a greater agglomeration of waste were the walls that are under the path of Line 1 of the Lima Metro. The burning of garbage was also evidenced in various parts of the busy avenue. All this would have occurred on December 31, in the midst of the celebrations to receive the new year.
This scenario is similar to the one that occurred on December 25, where the Christmas party was held.
