Routes to the coast: due to the end-of-year exodus, more than 2,000 cars circulate for now and there is congestion at key points

More than 2,200 vehicles per hour passed this morning through the Samborombón tollbooth towards the Atlantic Coast, in the usual exodus of travelers on the eve of the New Year's festivities and the beginning of the holidays, according to road sources. 

Between 8 and 9 a total of 2,255 units passed through Samborombón, on highway 2, heading towards the Atlantic Coast; 808 did so through the Maipú tollbooth and 1,905 crossed the La Huella tollbooth, on interbalnearia provincial route 11, they specified from Autopistas de Buenos Aires (Aubasa).

Traffic is also intense on Route 9 to the tourist destinations of the Santa Fe city of Rosario and the province of Córdoba, according to Corredores Viales SA.

Meanwhile, on routes 12 and 14, in the area of ​​the Zárate-Brazo Largo complex, it remained loaded in the direction of the coastal provinces, especially Entre Ríos.

Due to the New Year holiday, heavy traffic restrictions apply on highway 2, provincial routes 11, 36, 56, 63, 74 and the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway, which in the direction of the Atlantic Coast will be in force today from 6:00 p.m. 24 hours and tomorrow December 31 and January 1 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In the opposite direction, towards the city of Buenos Aires, heavy traffic restrictions will be maintained on January 1, 14 at midnight, reported the Road Administration of the Buenos Aires Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services.

This week, there has already been a 30 percent increase in vehicle traffic to the different tourist destinations in Argentina, as detailed in a statement by Corredores Viales, which manages 6,000 kilometers of routes and highways in 13 provinces.

Given the increase in traffic, the concessionaire deploys more than 30 mobile road safety posts at strategic points starting this Friday, in addition to the 18 fixed bases that operate all year round and toll station user service centers.

Only on December 28, 2,698 cars were mobilized along national route 226 that connects Balcarce with Mar del Plata in the province of Buenos Aires and until the afternoon of Thursday the 29th there were 1,537, 25 percent more than the previous week.

Along National Route 7 in the direction of the provinces of San Luis and Córdoba, at the Junín toll booth there was a significant increase in truck traffic, as the demand for farms, fruits and vegetables increases, as well as for private vehicles. people who circulate around the New Year's Eve parties or the beginning of their summer vacations.

The prevention posts, which are located on the side of the routes and are marked with cones and beacons, can be seen on National Route 8, in Buenos Aires and Santa Fe, on National Route 12, in Misiones; on the Buenos Aires-Rosario highway; on National Route 7, in the province of Buenos Aires and Mendoza.

In Córdoba and Santa Fe, they are located on national routes 19, 34, 9 and A008. Meanwhile, in the province of Buenos Aires, on national routes 5, 8, 188, 226 and 3 and on the Ezeiza - Cañuelas Highway.
