peru-sports

It was recently confirmed that Carlos Zambrano would stay at Boca Juniors until his contract expires in June 2023 and the intention of a contract renewal for two more years was contemplated. However, an eventual impasse with coach Hugo Ibarra would cause him to leave the club and the defender could join Alianza Lima.

According to the Argentine press, "León" would have had a strong discussion with DT Ibarra and the Peruvian defender would be marginalized from the professional squad and the "xeneize" board would be looking at the way to terminate the agreement by making effective the exit clause that the footballer has.

“Due to an act of indiscipline, Ibarra decided to marginalize Carlos Zambrano from the squad. In June his contract expired, this can change things #Boca ”, reported Carlos Torres, an Argentine journalist, about the 'Kaiser' case.

The defender will arrive in Lima in the next few hours to define his future as he has Alianza Lima's proposal on the table, which at the time approached Zambrano to negotiate his transfer, but did not prosper because he had decided to continue in Argentine soccer. However, now the panorama is different and he has the chance to return to the 'blue and white' team.

The Guillermo Salas team proposal is not the only one, César Vallejo also wishes to have it. The 'poets' made him a proposal and he could reinforce the team with a view to the Copa Sudamericana. Sebastián Abreu's team will face Deportivo Binacional next Wednesday, March 8 for the international tournament. The trujillanos will be local, but they are defining if they play there or in another stadium.

Zambrano also has offers from teams that compete in MLS. Some have already started preseason so they shouldn't leave any more time. The defender never played for a Peruvian club in the First Division, his career began at Schalke 04 in Germany and later he was in football in Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Switzerland and Argentina.

Carlos Zambrano decided to terminate his contract with Dinamo kyiv of Ukraine in 2020 and after a few months, Boca Juniors presented him as his new reinforcement for three seasons. Miguel Ángel Russo, that year's coach, was one of the architects for the 'León' to join his team. From that moment, the Peruvian defender lived applause and bad comments due to his temperament on the pitch and off it.

Thus the 'Kaiser' spent four seasons defending the 'blue and red' teams and became the first South American team that Zambrano defended. He managed to celebrate titles such as the Argentine Super League and the Argentine Cup in 2019-2020, the League Cup in 2020, the League Cup and the First Division in 2022. This year, he played 25 games in the Argentine league and 4 in the Copa Libertadores.
