The Minister of the Interior, Eduardo 'Wado' De Pedro, once again demanded that the president, Alberto Fernández, form a political table of the Frente de Todos at the national level with the aim of beginning to discuss and define the candidacies of the coalition in 2023 .

The government official was confident that this will happen at the beginning of next year and acknowledged the existence of differences within the Frente de Todos. "We give the discussion publicly, because when politicians lock themselves up, people lose," he defended.

“The way in which we resolve the consequences left by (Mauricio) Macri generates discussions, but we do not impersonate anyone, rather we point out that leaders like (Matías) Kulfas and (Martín) Guzmán were carrying out a terrible management, such as the terrible negotiation with the International Monetary Fund”, pointed out De Pedro.

In this sense, the Minister of the Interior stressed that "we formed a political front whose primary objective was to stop the management of Cambiemos, which returned Argentina to the International Monetary Fund, borrowing more than 100 million dollars, which made large sectors of society asked us to join.”

”The second objective, to start the productive engine of Argentina, was also fulfilled. In between we had a pandemic and the consequences of a war, ”he added.

Regarding a possible presidential candidacy of his in 2023, De Pedro limited himself to explaining that “like any leader who has to be in charge of the Executive, I am totally committed to managing. I understand that the opposition was too early to talk about candidacies, but the Frente de Todos is going to hold discussions at its political table to resolve them.

Eduardo 'Wado' De Pedro joined the criticism of the recent ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice that ordered the return of part of the shared funds cut in 2020 to the City of Buenos Aires and accused it of being "arbitrary, electoralist and anti-federal" .

“It is a ruling contrary to a solution. It is arbitrary, electoarlist and anti-federal. Seeing such injustice with the City that has the highest quality of life in terms of infrastructure and the smallest in territory and seeing the needs that exist in the rest of Argentina goes against the National Constitution, which says that the resources of the Government national and the co-participation system has to resolve the imbalances in Argentina with a spirit of solidarity”, the official explained in statements to Radio Con Vos.

De Pedro accused the highest court of being involved in an "excess of politicization" and of being "financed the campaign of the City of Buenos Aires at the expense of the needs of the other provinces."

In parallel, he defended the position of the president, Alberto Fernández and the governors for "continuing to discuss the arbitrariness of this precautionary measure within the framework of the codes and laws."

The Minister of the Interior was consulted about the image that was disseminated after the arrival of the Argentine National Team in the country after winning the World Cup in Qatar, in which he went to receive them at the airport, but no footballer greeted him.

“When something as important as winning the World Cup happens, if no one from the government goes to the reception, it can be taken as a lack of respect and courtesy. A cordon of honor was formed with security agencies and officials on the side as a protocol. It was never in the protocol to generate greetings. Perhaps there was confusion with Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia because we know each other, he saw me and greeted me, ”he explained.

In turn, he said that "after watching the final with my family, I was in Mercedes, I came to celebrate in the main square, then I was on July 9 and San Juan celebrating hours, it is the best memory."
