As a ritual that is repeated every year, the Cordovan city of Villa Carlos Paz welcomed the new year with a light show and fireworks that lit up the sky.

The fireworks could be seen from different areas of the city and became a great show with which the tourist town welcomed 2023 and its summer season that has a large theatrical offer with more than 50 plays on its billboard .

The persistent rain, however, meant that the presence of residents and tourists who gathered in the area between the Uruguay Bridge and the San Roque lake shoreline was not massive, to be privileged witnesses of the light show that began exactly at 1 in the morning of this Sunday, January 1.

As in recent years, the show was made up mostly of cold lights with low sound impact, although many perceived that the noise produced by the pyrotechnics was greater than in other years.

In this way, Villa Carlos Paz joined the large number of tourist cities around the world with this type of festivities.

Since Saturday afternoon, security operations have been carried out in the sector that included personnel from Citizen Security, Civil Defense, Police and Firefighters in order to guarantee the safety of the families that approached the sector where they were located. the artifacts.

Likewise, traffic diversions were made with cuts and diversions to be able to coordinate all the details of the show that lasted ten minutes, to the delight of all.

With a high percentage of reservations and many inquiries, Carlos Paz expects a significant influx of visitors over the next few days who choose this tourist spot in the first half of January, the strongest of the season.

It should be noted that the hotel, gastronomic and commercial sector of the town updated its rates between 80% and 100% for this summer, adjusting them to the inflationary rhythm left by 2022.  However, from the sector they predict that this will be an excellent season, not only because of the supply offered by the city, but also because of the rise in the price of the dollar, which could discourage travel abroad and encourage domestic tourism.
