Tiger Woods celebrates his 47th birthday with a billion dollar fortune

Golf

During his 27-year professional career, Tiger Woods has been in charge of cementing one of the most important legacies in the history of golf. This effort, which has spanned nearly three decades, has paid off financially and has elevated the 46-year-old athlete to the monetary leadership of world sport.

According to information from Forbes' Matt Craig, it is estimated that Woods has a fortune of one trillion dollars. The publication adds that the golfer is only the second active athlete to reach this figure and the third athlete overall (the other two billionaires are LeBron James and Michael Jordan).

Forbes adds that during his career, Tiger Woods registers gross income corresponding to salaries in excess of 1.7 billion dollars (this must be deducted taxes and the payment of representatives). It is added that this figure is the largest they have recorded in his history.

According to the analysis, less than 10% of Woods' billion-dollar fortune comes from his golfing earnings. Most of his income comes from deals with companies like Gatorade, Monster Energy, TaylorMade, Rolex and Nike, a company that has sponsored him since 1996.

Another source of profit for Woods comes through the company TGR Ventures. Through said company, the golfer promotes businesses related to sports (TGR Design), produces events (TGR Live) and manages a restaurant (The Woods).

It should be noted that Woods' fortune would be larger; however, the Cypress, California native turned down a never-before-seen deal. On June 6 it was reported that he turned down an offer close to a billion dollars to join a Golf league in Saudi Arabia ─Phil Mickelson accepted the invitation and has now been banned from PGA events.
