A young man is shot in the back at the door of a nightclub in the Palermo neighborhood

A young man of Venezuelan nationality was shot in the back today during the New Year celebrations at the entrance door of a nightclub in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo and it is being investigated whether two or more people attacked him.

The event was recorded this morning, around 4:30 a.m., when the victim, identified as Brayan Trejo Reyes, was inside the Rumbas dance venue, located in Gorriti at 5500, in the aforementioned neighborhood of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, according to sources. police and judicial cited by the Télam agency.

The young man left the club and, when he was about to go back in, he was attacked from behind, and fell badly wounded by at least one bullet.

Faced with this situation, a call to 911 alerted the City Police about what had happened, so personnel from the Emergency Medical Care System (SAME) went to the place where they verified the death of the young man.

Meanwhile, members of the 14B Neighborhood Police Station and the Homicide Division carried out various procedures this morning in order to identify the aggressor(s).

In this sense, the investigations met with witnesses and analyzed the images from the security cameras in the area.

“We were all inside. This boy ran in and took a piece of glass, we don't know what happened," a nightclub security staff told the press.

The witness assured that the young man "seems to have had a problem outside (the bowling alley)" and that he "wanted to save himself by running" from the place. "The mother was yelling that they had killed her son," he said.

According to the man, the Rumbas bowling alley "is quiet and works with reservations," but since it was the first of January and there were not many reservations, the public entered from outside.

The case was left in charge of the prosecutor in Criminal and Correctional 25 Martín Mainardi.

Investigators seek to establish whether it was an attack on Trejo Reyes or was directed at another person.
